Since 2004, IREC has worked nationally with partners in education, industry, labor and government to address real market needs in renewable energy and energy efficiency – to create training and education programs for the long-term – programs that prepare workers with a high-quality skills set with marketable value.
Today’s premier national platform for educating the renewable energy and energy efficiency workforce – the national Clean Energy Workforce Education Conference (CEWEC) – has grown from a small gathering of 40 thought leaders nine years ago, to some 500 clean energy educators and trainers. From the beginning, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has been the conference’s major sponsor. IREC has been the primary conference organizer.
The 5th conference took place November 13-15, 2012 in Albany, NY, where hundreds of the nation’s innovators in clean energy workforce development and education came together to share insights and best practices.
