IREC ISPQ Candidate Handbook This document provides applicants the necessary information about eligibility, fees, annual maintenance of the award, timelines, and policies, as well as all aspects of the IREC ISPQ assessment process. Changes to the Candidate Handbook were released in February 2012.  Read the Summary of Changes to the Handbook.

IREC ISPQ Application Forms

Application for Training Program Accreditation This application walks a candidate through the  process of developing the documentation required to apply for qualification as an IREC ISPQ Accredited Training Program. In order to qualify for Training Program Accreditation (Accredited Training Program), an organization must be recognized as a legally registered institution or organization providing a course or curriculum that is aligned with an industry-accepted Job Task Analysis and is of the length and depth to provide learners with exposure to all critical tasks involved in the job.  (February 2012).


Application for Continuing Education Provider Accreditation This application walks a candidate through the  process of developing the documentation required to apply for qualification as an IREC ISPQ Accredited Continuing Education Provider. In order to qualify for Continuing Education Provider Accreditation (Accredited Continuing Education Provider), an organization must be a provider of short courses or workshops relevant to renewable energy, energy efficiency and distributed generation fields that complement or supplement the knowledge of the learner. (February 2012).


Application for Independent Master Trainer Certification This application walks a candidate through the process of developing the documentation required to apply for qualification as an IREC ISPQ Certified Independent Master Trainer. To qualify for Independent Master Trainer Certification (Certified Independent Master Trainer), the teacher must be qualified to deliver training independent of a fixed facility or program, taking personal responsibility for the quality of the facility, the resources the facility provides, and the policies and procedures which govern the relevant renewable energy, energy efficiency or distributed generation fields of training. Application for Affiliated Master Trainer Certification This application walks a candidate through the  process of developing the documentation required to apply for qualification as an IREC ISPQ Certified Affiliated Master Trainer. To qualify for Affiliated Master Trainer Certification (Certified Affiliated Master Trainer), persons must be recognized as instructors with considerable experience and education who are:  qualified both to teach conventional students as well as fellow instructors within the renewable energy, energy efficiency and distributed generation fields, and employed by an IREC ISPQ Accredited Training Program, an IREC ISPQ Accredited Continuing Education Provider, or an IREC ISPQ Certified Independent Master Trainer.  (February 2012).


Application for Affiliated Instructor Certification This application walks a candidate through the  process of developing the documentation required to apply for qualification as an IREC ISPQ Certified Affiliated Instructor. To qualify for Affiliated Instructor Certification (Certified Affiliated Instructor), instructors must be recognized as professionals who teach renewable energy, energy efficiency or distributed generation courses in the employ of an IREC ISPQ Accredited Training Program, IREC ISPQ Accredited Continuing Education Provider, an IREC ISPQ Certified Independent Master Trainer, or an IREC ISPQ Certified Independent Instructor. To qualify for Independent Instructor Certification (Certified Independent Instructor), an instructor must be qualified to deliver training independent of a fixed facility, the resources the facility provides, and the policies and procedures which govern the relevant renewable energy, energy efficiency or distributed generation training. Application for Course Additions to Accredited Training Programs This Application should be used by Accredited Training Programs to supply the necessary documentation to add a course or courses to their IREC ISPQ accredited program. This application should only be used by programs whose accreditation designation is active. For status renewal or for accreditation of a new program based on a different Job Task Analysis, please use the full application for Training Program Accreditation.
