Become an Assessor
What is an IREC ISPQ Registered Assessor?
Our assessors are a select group of individuals experienced in renewable energy and energy efficiency who have a strong interest in supporting the development of high quality, effective training programs.
Assessors play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the IREC ISPQ evaluation process. Through a practice of thorough review, they ensure that applicants for accreditation or certification actually meet the IREC ISPQ Standard 01022: 2011. Assessors work with candidates through an ongoing exchange to ensure that they meet all the components of the ISPQ Standard before recommending them to the Award Committee, which makes the final decision on award.
Do you qualify?
An IREC ISPQ Assessor must have experience in an energy-related discipline such as:
- Photovoltaic Systems
- Solar Thermal & Thermal Electric Systems
- Wind Power Systems
- Solar / Wind Hybrid Systems
- Solar / Wind / Diesel Hybrid Systems
- Energy Efficiency Technologies
Potential Assessors must have demonstrated organizational and evaluation skills. Assessing requires clear analysis and attention to detail.
A candidate from academia will normally have a formal education in engineering, science, engineering technology, building science, or an energy-related field.
Candidates from other than academia will normally have a formal education to the bachelor’s degree level or higher, and five (5) or more years experience in a renewable energy or energy efficiency related discipline.
Variable Part-time Contracting
Assessor assignments are dependent on the volume of IREC ISPQ applications received. Although we are experiencing exponential growth, the volume and frequency of applications requiring asessments is variable. As a result, the position of assessor is part-time and intermittent.
